Damco Angola, a vibrant, fast growing and performance driven organization, seeks a Country Manager. Angola is amongst the fastest growing economies in the world, expected to grow double digits in the years to come. A major reconstruction work is being done and foreign investment is increasing rapidly. The development of road and railway infrastructures will stimulate the further expansion of the trade and the increase of containerized cargo coming in and out of the country.

The ideal candidate will be an enterprising and competitive individual, with a proven track record of closing deals. The position requires previous people management experience and solid financial understanding. Excellent negotiation and communication skills for strategic relations management are also required. The responsibility includes full company performance (P&L) responsibility for Damco’s business in Angola.

You will be overall responsible for leading the Damco Angola team to ensure strong growth in terms of profit and volumes thereby gaining market share from competition. Furthermore focus should be on excellent service delivery as well as a relentless focus on delivering the numbers. The Country Manager reports to the Regional CEO will be a key member of the Regional Leadership Team. The role will be a ‘Leader of Leaders’ position.

Luanda is the largest city in Angola, and as such a buzzing city with good schools and an established expat environment.

Experience:
• P&L experience with DAMCO/Freight Forwarding preferred
• Business development experience

• Previous work experience in Africa is preferable
